Intended purpose
Sellheim elevating spoon is intended for use by obstetricians to elevate and manoeuvre the fetal presenting part during operative obstetric delivery procedures. The instrument is introduced through the vaginal canal of female patients in labour. The spoon profile is designed to engage the fetal presenting part without puncturing the amniotic membranes. The device is reusable and requires validated decontamination and sterilisation between uses.
