Intended purpose
Elliot sclerectomy trephine is intended for use by ophthalmologists to excise a disc of sclera during sclerectomy procedures in the management of glaucoma. The trephine is applied to the scleral surface of the operative eye. The cylindrical cutting edge creates a circular full-thickness scleral incision for aqueous drainage. The device is reusable and requires validated decontamination and sterilisation between uses.
