Intended purpose
Plaster cast saw is intended for use by orthopaedic technicians and clinicians to cut and remove plaster of Paris and synthetic casting material from the limbs and body of patients. The saw is applied to the outer surface of the cast without contacting patient skin. The oscillating blade profile reduces the risk of skin injury by dissipating cutting force into the rigid cast material. The device is reusable and requires validated decontamination and sterilisation between uses.
