Intended purpose
Alexander bone chisel is intended for use by orthopaedic surgeons to cut and shape cortical and cancellous bone during bone resection and reconstruction procedures. The chisel is applied to osseous tissue within the operative surgical field. The chisel is driven by surgical mallet for precise cortical bone division during mastoid and bone surgical procedures. The device is reusable and requires validated decontamination and sterilisation between uses.
