Intended purpose
Rochard abdominal retractor valve is intended for use by surgeons as an interchangeable blade component of the Rochard wound retractor system to retract abdominal contents during open abdominal surgical procedures. The valve is applied to abdominal tissue within the abdominal operative field. The interchangeable valve design allows the retractor system to be configured for different wound widths and depths during open abdominal procedures. The device is reusable and requires validated decontamination and sterilisation between uses.
