Intended purpose
Ophthalmic compass is intended for use by ophthalmologists to mark and measure precise distances on the ocular surface during surgical planning and ophthalmic operative procedures. The compass is applied to the conjunctival and scleral surface of the eye. The compass tips mark reference points on the scleral and conjunctival surface to guide surgical incision placement. The device is reusable and requires validated decontamination and sterilisation between uses.
