Intended purpose
Rugine (bone raspatory) is intended for use by orthopaedic surgeons to strip periosteum from the bone surface during orthopaedic operative procedures. The rugine is applied to periosteum and cortical bone surface within the operative field. The raspatory tip is used in a scraping motion to detach periosteum from the bone cortex. The device is reusable and requires validated decontamination and sterilisation between uses.
