Intended purpose
Finger nail perforator is intended for use by surgeons and clinicians to create drainage holes through the nail plate for decompression of subungual haematomas. The instrument is applied to the nail plate of affected fingers. The perforator creates a small circular hole through the nail plate to relieve the underlying haematoma pressure without requiring nail avulsion. The device is reusable and requires validated decontamination and sterilisation between uses.
