Intended purpose
Bone chisel is intended for use by orthopaedic surgeons and neurosurgeons to cut, section, and shape cortical and cancellous bone during bone resection and reconstruction procedures. The chisel is applied to osseous tissue under direct vision within the operative surgical field. The chisel tip is driven by a surgical mallet to create controlled cortical bone incisions without fragmentation. The device is reusable and requires validated decontamination and sterilisation between uses.
