Intended purpose
Bone gouge is intended for use by orthopaedic surgeons and neurosurgeons to shape, groove, and remove cancellous bone during bone reconstruction and grafting procedures. The gouge is applied to osseous tissue within the operative surgical field. The gouge tip removes cancellous bone in controlled increments without excessive bone fragmentation. The device is reusable and requires validated decontamination and sterilisation between uses.
