Intended purpose
Tracheal bistoury is intended for use by surgeons to incise the tracheal wall during tracheotomy or cricothyroidotomy procedures. The instrument is applied to the anterior tracheal wall in the neck of patients requiring emergency or elective surgical airway access. The blade profile allows controlled incision of the anterior tracheal wall. The device is reusable and requires validated decontamination and sterilisation between uses.
