Intended purpose
McIvor mouth gag blade is intended for use by surgeons and anaesthetists as a tongue retractor component within a mouth gag system to maintain tongue retraction and oral access during oral, pharyngeal, and palatal surgical procedures. The blade is applied to the tongue within the oral cavity. The blade depresses the tongue and maintains the oral airway patent during the procedure. The device is reusable and requires validated decontamination and sterilisation between uses.
