Intended purpose
Metal male urethral catheter is intended for use by urologists and nursing staff to drain urine from the bladder via the male urethra, or to irrigate the bladder in male patients with urological conditions. The catheter is introduced through the external urethral meatus. The rigid metal construction maintains catheter shape during passage through the prostatic and membranous urethra. The device is reusable and requires validated decontamination and sterilisation between uses.
