Intended purpose
Killian nasal speculum is intended for use by ENT surgeons and rhinologists to dilate and maintain the opening of the nasal cavity for direct visualisation of the nasal mucosa, septum, and turbinates during anterior rhinoscopy and nasal operative procedures. The speculum is inserted into the nasal vestibule. The adjustable jaw design permits gradual dilatation of the nasal cavity to the required depth of examination. The device is reusable and requires validated decontamination and sterilisation between uses.
