Intended purpose
Kristeller vaginal valve is intended for use by gynaecologists and obstetricians to retract the vaginal walls and expose the vaginal canal and cervix during operative gynaecological procedures. The valve is inserted into the vaginal canal of female patients. The weighted design provides sustained retraction of the vaginal wall without continuous manual effort. The device is reusable and requires validated decontamination and sterilisation between uses.
