Intended purpose
Uterine sound is intended for use by gynaecologists to assess uterine cavity depth and uterine position prior to intrauterine procedures. The instrument is introduced through the uterine cervical canal into the uterine cavity of female patients. The calibrated scale on the device allows the clinician to record and document uterine cavity depth. The device is reusable and requires validated decontamination and sterilisation between uses.
