Intended purpose
Beckmann self-retaining retractor is intended for use by surgeons to retract and maintain separation of wound edges during open surgical procedures. The retractor is applied to soft tissue within the open surgical wound. The self-retaining ratchet mechanism holds prongs in position to maintain consistent wound exposure. The device is reusable and requires validated decontamination and sterilisation between uses.
