Intended purpose
Surgical retractor is intended for use by surgeons and surgical assistants to retract tissue and maintain operative exposure during open surgical procedures. The retractor is applied to soft tissue within the open surgical wound. The retractor provides continuous tissue displacement without requiring a dedicated surgical assistant in self-retaining designs. The device is reusable and requires validated decontamination and sterilisation between uses.
