Intended purpose
Plaster cast spreader is intended for use by orthopaedic technicians and clinicians to spread and open cast material following incision during bivalving or removal of plaster casts from patients. The spreading action increases the gap between bivalved cast sections without creating uncontrolled forces on the underlying limb. The device is reusable and requires validated decontamination and sterilisation between uses.
