Intended purpose
Blepharostat is intended for use by ophthalmologists to hold the eyelids apart and maintain exposure of the ocular surface during ophthalmic surgical and examination procedures. The instrument is applied to the eyelid margins. The spring-loaded arms provide sustained, adjustable lid retraction throughout the ophthalmic procedure. The device is reusable and requires validated decontamination and sterilisation between uses.
