Intended purpose
Vaginal speculum is intended for use by gynaecologists, obstetricians, and midwives to dilate and expose the vaginal canal and cervix during gynaecological examination and operative procedures. The speculum is inserted into the vaginal canal of female patients. The speculum provides continuous mechanical retraction of the vaginal walls without requiring additional instruments. The device is reusable and requires validated decontamination and sterilisation between uses.
