Intended purpose
Yankauer suction tube is intended for use by surgeons, anaesthetists, and nursing staff to aspirate oral secretions, blood, and fluid from the oropharynx during airway management and surgical procedures. The suction tube is introduced into the oropharyngeal cavity. The bulbous tip design prevents soft tissue from being aspirated into the suction lumen during oropharyngeal suctioning. The device is reusable and requires validated decontamination and sterilisation between uses.
