Intended purpose
US Army (Parker-Langenbeck) retractor is intended for use by surgeons and surgical assistants to manually retract soft tissue and maintain wound exposure during open surgical procedures. The retractor is applied to soft tissue edges within the open surgical wound. The double-ended design provides retraction options at two different depths within the same wound. The device is reusable and requires validated decontamination and sterilisation between uses.
