Intended purpose
Frazier dura separator is intended for use by neurosurgeons to separate and protect the dura mater from adjacent bony structures during cranial and spinal decompression procedures. The separator is introduced between the dura and surrounding bony tissue. The thin spatula tip is introduced between the dura and the bone in a sweeping motion to achieve full periosteal and dural separation. The device is reusable and requires validated decontamination and sterilisation between uses.
