Intended purpose
Doyen rib raspatory is intended for use by thoracic surgeons to strip periosteum from the rib surface during thoracotomy and rib resection procedures. The raspatory is applied to costal periosteum within the thoracic operative field. The device is reusable and requires validated decontamination and sterilisation between uses in accordance with the reprocessing instructions supplied by the manufacturer.
