Intended purpose
Sluder-Ballenger tonsillectome is intended for use by ENT surgeons to dissect and remove tonsillar tissue during guillotine tonsillectomy. The instrument is introduced into the oropharynx and applied to the tonsil of patients undergoing tonsillectomy. The guillotine mechanism provides complete tonsillar excision in a single action. The device is reusable and requires validated decontamination and sterilisation between uses.
