Intended purpose
Bone raspatory is intended for use by orthopaedic surgeons to strip periosteum from the bone surface and smooth bone edges during orthopaedic operative procedures. The raspatory is applied to periosteum and cortical bone surface within the operative surgical field. The raspatory tip strips the periosteum from the bone surface in a controlled motion without damaging underlying cortical bone. The device is reusable and requires validated decontamination and sterilisation between uses.
