Intended purpose
Ricard abdominal valve is intended for use by surgeons to retract and maintain exposure of abdominal viscera during open abdominal surgical procedures. The valve is applied to abdominal contents within the abdominal operative field. The contoured blade provides broad retraction surface area to distribute tissue forces during abdominal retraction. The device is reusable and requires validated decontamination and sterilisation between uses.
