Intended purpose
Kelly haemostatic forceps/clamps are intended for use by surgeons and surgical assistants to temporarily occlude blood vessels and control haemorrhage within the operative field during open surgical procedures. The forceps are applied to vascular and soft tissue structures within the open surgical wound. The ratchet mechanism maintains jaw closure without continuous manual pressure during tissue occlusion. The device is reusable and requires validated decontamination and sterilisation between uses.
