Intended purpose
Desmarres eyelid elevator is intended for use by ophthalmologists to evert and elevate the eyelid during ophthalmic surgical and examination procedures. The instrument is applied to eyelid tissue to expose the tarsal plate and conjunctival surface. The spatula-tipped design allows atraumatic eversion and elevation of the eyelid margin. The device is reusable and requires validated decontamination and sterilisation between uses.
