Intended purpose
Graefe crochet/hook is intended for use by ophthalmologists to engage and manipulate extraocular muscles during strabismus surgery, or to retrieve intraocular structures during anterior segment procedures. The hook is applied to extraocular muscle or anterior segment tissue of the operative eye. The smooth hook tip allows engagement of the extraocular muscle without penetrating or damaging the muscle belly. The device is reusable and requires validated decontamination and sterilisation between uses.
