Intended purpose
Bowman lacrimal probe/needle is intended for use by ophthalmologists to probe and dilate the lacrimal canaliculus and nasolacrimal duct during assessment and treatment of lacrimal drainage obstruction. The probe is introduced through the lacrimal punctum of the eyelid. The probe is introduced through the lacrimal punctum and advanced along the canaliculus and nasolacrimal duct to assess or relieve obstruction. The device is reusable and requires validated decontamination and sterilisation between uses.
