Intended purpose
Volkmann bone curette is intended for use by orthopaedic surgeons to debride, scrape, and remove diseased or necrotic bone tissue from bone cavities and surfaces. The curette is applied to osseous tissue within the operative surgical field. The spoon-shaped curette tip removes bone tissue in discrete increments from bone cavities. The device is reusable and requires validated decontamination and sterilisation between uses.
