Intended purpose
Rigid tracheal tube is intended for use by surgeons and anaesthetists to maintain a patent surgical airway through a tracheostomy in the trachea of patients requiring surgical airway management. The tube is inserted into the trachea through a surgically created tracheostomy opening in the anterior neck. The rigid tube maintains tracheal lumen patency and provides a route for ventilation and suction. The device is reusable and requires validated decontamination and sterilisation between uses.
