Intended purpose
Tracheal dilator is intended for use by surgeons to dilate a tracheostomy incision for insertion of a tracheal cannula during tracheotomy procedures. The instrument is applied to the tracheal incision margins. The spreading jaws dilate the tracheal incision to accommodate the selected cannula. The device is reusable and requires validated decontamination and sterilisation between uses.
