Intended purpose
Tracheal cannula is intended for use by surgeons and anaesthetists to maintain a patent surgical airway through a tracheostomy in the trachea of patients requiring airway management. The cannula is inserted into the trachea through the anterior neck. The cannula maintains tracheal patency by providing a rigid airway through the tracheostomy. The device is reusable and requires validated decontamination and sterilisation between uses.
