Intended purpose
Poole abdominal suction tube is intended for use by surgeons to aspirate large volumes of blood, fluid, and peritoneal contents from the abdominal cavity during open abdominal surgical procedures. The tube is introduced into the peritoneal cavity. The fenestrated guard sleeve prevents abdominal viscera from being drawn into the suction port during fluid aspiration. The device is reusable and requires validated decontamination and sterilisation between uses.
