Intended purpose
Mayo safety needle is intended for use by surgeons to pass sutures or ligatures through tissue during surgical closure procedures. The needle is applied to soft tissue within the operative field. The needle is designed to allow safe suture passage through tissue with minimised risk of inadvertent puncture. The device is reusable and requires validated decontamination and sterilisation between uses.
