Intended purpose
Pratt rectal speculum is intended for use by colorectal surgeons and clinicians to dilate and visualise the rectal lumen and lower rectum during anorectal examination and operative procedures. The speculum is introduced through the anal canal into the rectum. The bevelled open-ended design allows visualisation and instrumentation of the lower rectum. The device is reusable and requires validated decontamination and sterilisation between uses.
