Intended purpose
Doyen intestinal forceps are intended for use by general and colorectal surgeons to occlude and handle intestinal tissue during bowel resection procedures. The forceps are applied to intestinal tissue within the abdominal operative field. The atraumatic jaw design provides sufficient lumen occlusion without ischaemic necrosis of the bowel wall during the procedure. The device is reusable and requires validated decontamination and sterilisation between uses.
