Intended purpose
Randall kidney stone forceps are intended for use by urologists to grasp and extract calculi from the renal pelvis, calyces, or ureter during open or percutaneous nephrolithotomy procedures. The instrument is applied to urinary calculi within the renal collecting system. The jaw configurations in the set allow engagement of calculi in different orientations and anatomical positions within the collecting system. The device is reusable and requires validated decontamination and sterilisation between uses.
