Intended purpose
Chevalier-Jackson bronchoscopic forceps are intended for use by ENT surgeons and thoracic surgeons to grasp and retrieve foreign bodies from the bronchi, trachea, or oesophagus under rigid endoscopic visualisation. The instrument is passed through a rigid bronchoscope or oesophagoscope into the airway or oesophageal lumen. The forceps jaw design provides secure engagement of foreign bodies within the bronchial or oesophageal lumen. The device is reusable and requires validated decontamination and sterilisation between uses.
