Intended purpose
Mouth gag is intended for use by surgeons and anaesthetists to maintain forced mouth opening and provide access to the oral cavity during oral, pharyngeal, and ENT surgical procedures. The gag is applied to the upper and lower dental arches or gums of patients. The ratchet mechanism maintains fixed mouth opening throughout the procedure without continuous manual effort. The device is reusable and requires validated decontamination and sterilisation between uses.
