Intended purpose
Laryngeal mirror is intended for use by ENT surgeons and speech therapists to obtain indirect laryngoscopic visualisation of the larynx, hypopharynx, and vocal cords via light reflection. The mirror is introduced into the oropharynx during examination of patients presenting with laryngeal or vocal cord pathology. The metal mirror surface is heated gently prior to use to prevent condensation from obstructing the image. The device is reusable and requires validated decontamination and sterilisation between uses.
