Intended purpose
Tuning fork is intended for use by clinicians, ENT surgeons, and audiologists to generate a standardised acoustic vibration for clinical hearing assessment, including Rinne and Weber tests, and for assessment of peripheral vibratory sensation. The instrument is applied to the mastoid process or held adjacent to the external ear of patients undergoing audiological evaluation.
