Intended purpose
Placenta and ovum forceps are intended for use by gynaecologists and obstetricians to grasp and extract products of conception, placental tissue, or retained uterine contents from the uterine cavity of female patients undergoing uterine evacuation procedures. The instrument is introduced through the uterine cervical canal. The ring-jaw design provides secure engagement of soft placental and gestational tissue for controlled extraction. The device is reusable and requires validated decontamination and sterilisation between uses.
