Intended purpose
Deschamps ligature needle is intended for use by surgeons to pass ligature material around vascular pedicles and tissue structures that cannot be accessed by standard knotting techniques during open surgical procedures. The needle is passed around soft tissue and vascular structures within the operative field. The pointed or blunt tip is selected based on the proximity of adjacent vascular structures and the required tissue penetration. The device is reusable and requires validated decontamination and sterilisation between uses.
