Intended purpose
Desmarres eyelid retractor is intended for use by ophthalmologists to retract the eyelid and expose the globe and anterior ocular segment during ophthalmic surgical and examination procedures. The retractor is applied to eyelid tissue. The smooth curved blade profile conforms to the eyelid curvature to provide even retraction without tissue compression. The device is reusable and requires validated decontamination and sterilisation between uses.
