Intended purpose
Desjardins common duct clamp is intended for use by hepatobiliary and general surgeons to occlude the common bile duct during biliary surgical procedures. The clamp is applied to the common bile duct within the operative field. The jaw design provides secure bile duct occlusion without crushing the ductal wall or mucosal lining. The device is reusable and requires validated decontamination and sterilisation between uses.
