Intended purpose
Rochester-Pean haemostatic forceps are intended for use by surgeons and surgical assistants to temporarily occlude blood vessels and clamp soft tissue pedicles during open surgical procedures. The forceps are applied to vascular and soft tissue within the open surgical wound. The instrument achieves vessel occlusion through mechanical compression of the lumen and adjacent tissue walls. The device is reusable and requires validated decontamination and sterilisation between uses.
